Imitators were cutting into Mattel’s sales of doll clothing and other accessories — a very profitable part of the Barbie franchise. Our solution: “pink stamps” enclosed with dolls and every Barbie-related product . These could be accumulated and redeemed for unique Barbie-related prizes. We managed the entire program including distributing 200-million stamps and creating 50 novel items for our “Fashion Fun Catalog.” This program won DMA’s Henry Hoke Award for innovation.
